The Zambian air force ensign from "Die Luftwaffenflaggen Großbritanniens
und der Commonwealth-Staaten" by Karl Fachinger is given as being a plain air
force blue flag, with the roundel in the center, and no national flag in
the canton. The roundel has an orange border, the center disk is divided
in three sections of (clockwise) red, black, green; in the center is the
Zambian eagle in white.

The Zambian Air Force (ZAF) uses the multi-colour device of the flag with
a bottom green bar as its fin flash.

Cochrane and Elliott [cos98] shows the fin flag with the green stripe at the top! This should be checked and
if possible
corrected in future updates of the Album. Also, according to the same source, the roundel and the fin flash are based on the national flag and all are adopted in 1964 and have not been changed
since.
